Meet your local micro baker!

My name is Chelsea Bunch (she/her), and I am born and raised right here in PDX! I grew up in the Piedmont Neighborhood right up the street from my favorite place, Peninsula Park, and now call the vibrant Cully Neighborhood my home.

My journey with sourdough began as a curious pursuit in the art of sourdough baking, and it has blossomed into a heartfelt love of the baking technique.

It all started in March 2024 after watching the Netflix documentary, “Cooked”. I’m a curious person and loved how it focused on the history, culture and importance of from the perspective of the four elements: fire, water, air and Earth. The first episode was all about naturally leavened bread and I was hooked! I decided then that I would follow my curiosity, and learn the art of making homemade, naturally-leavened bread. I’ve enjoyed every single moment, learning, experimenting and understanding “the dough science” - I think learning in this way has helped me bake some stellar loaves!

One evening while working on a loaf, my youngest son, DJ (who is equally as curious as I am), looked at Zellie and asked, “so this is basically like an infinite food loop?” I loved it! What a fresh way to explain how this cool leaven nourishes sustainably and resiliently! “Yes, DJ! You’re right! What a great way to explain the dough science!” The small seed for starting Infinite Food Loop Sourdough Company was planted at that very moment!

Outside of baking, I enjoy spending time with my family, wandering and exploring local farmers’ markets, learning new baking techniques, and sharing my love for sourdough with friends and family. My mission is to inspire others to experience the joy of baking and savor the simple pleasures of life…and sharing my ever-growing love of sourdough with you!
